Weekend at Bernie's

Casualty of war.

Weekend..
on Saturday, headed out to Valparaiso to see a friend's new apartment. The view of the bay from the 23rd floor was something else. Beautiful. The apartment is new and there were a number of complaints he made regarding final finishing, so it hasn't been delivered yet.
we went for lunch at Tip y Tap in Vina.. then decided on staying in that coast city.
Little nap, then some drinks and bbq at my friend's apartment in Vina, and off for a night on the town.
Surprisingly, we ran into a lot of people we knew, and ended up in a little group, dancing, then heading back after it closed to watch the sunrise.
After that, we somehow found ourselves driving over the sand along a desolate bit of beach north of Vina. A place called Ritoque. It's a 20 km long stretch of beach, you aren't really allowed to drive on the beach but...
Somehow, our 3 tonne Dodge Ram got stuck on the soft sand, and started spinning itself in a not very fun way.
air came out, and it refloated and out we were.
Back to a town called Con Con for fab empanadas (machas).

We headed back to Santiago that afternoon, and I met up with two friends to go to a rooftop loungy sort of place, right by the river, close to a glider club. So, a tired and relaxed time watching the birds land silently next door, and drinking just the right drink for that sunset moment... pina colada.
mmmm
