We all wanted to be Hippies
So, this is the beach I went to..
quite amazing.
Puertecillo.
It's about 2:30 hours south of Santiago, on a rugged piece of coastline requiring a good 4x4 to go down the "road" (called, very aptly the Switchblade). Or you can walk.
Anyway, my friend Andres Bisquertt built a beauty of a surf Lodge, it's opening this weekend, 4 suites, all with decks looking out onto the Pacific.
Inside, thick stone walls, big picture windows, and a bridge that connects the dining room and kitchen.
But the best part is the beach itself.
Imagine a 5 kilometer long stretch of absolutely virgin beach. Nobody on it. Weekend, summer. Nadie. Nobody.
Empty
At the far left, there is a point, where the waves break and create impressively long, perfect. blocks long actually.
So, that's the sort of person who makes the pilgramage to Puertecillo. Surfers.
The nicest thing was being able to leave all your belongings strewn about and knowing that it is not physically possible for someone to just pop in and out unnoticed, taking with them your cash, bike, board, wallet, ipod, etc.
Just ask me.. the sponser of many a thief.
