secrets to good (bestselling) journalism

My little Theory (call it, theory of the day)
is that the top ranked articles in Nytimes.com
are usually lightweight subjects that people associate with.

how?

By writing about things that deep down people like, but forget that they do.
Mainstreaming a subject readers already like is that much easier.

This theory has very little base, I just though about reading about the 80 martini lunch in todays nytimes.com
top ranked most emailed article.
