Easter Island has a seriously large horse population. It seems every Rapa Nui owns several, but they roam free. Our guide had his car licked and bitten while we were touring the Te Pito Kura Ahu, as they must have thought the shine was water.
But try to rent one.. not cheap.
I ended up biking everywhere, and running into these semi feral steeds
