If I could I would

Hola a todos. Hello again. Congrats before I begin to Mel on her purchase. Probably the largest in life as real estate agents love to say. Just like those ads for beds in Architectural Digest of the late 80´s – you spend one third of your life in bed, make sure it´s the best-. Pretty clever copywriting.
I have often admired the ability of great copywriters. For some reason they tend to be American.
I was speaking to a famous (in the circle of course) mathematician, David Powers, a week ago. “The odds of anything happening in America are pretty good when you have a population of 300 million”. True.
So, good copywriters are not born or made, they are one in a million, so there you have 300. But also, there was a simpler time for advertising, the time of the martini lunch, of the Mercedes 6.9 SEL, this time was 1972. Before the oil crisis, before the dearth of American innocence and the belief in the power of a common individual goal.

So, now I shall put on The Only Living Boy in New York by Paul Simon. Whatever did he mean when he wrote that song? “hey, I´ve got nothing to do today but smile, do do ra do ra, here I am, the only living boy in New York, half of the time we´re gone and we don´t know where”.
Maybe it´s the melody but it´s a nice one. Maybe I am the only living boy who doesn´t get it.

Let´s talk about a neutral subject let´s.
Switzerland, weather, peas, or Political Islam.

News Flash
rolling Stones to play for the first time in China. Mainland China.
Song that they are not allowed to play? Brown sugar.
Listening to it right now.
Brown sugar, how come you dance so good?
Brown sugar, just like a young girl should

There it is. Damn right, chairman Xiaoping was right. They should be hanged.

"If I could through myself
Set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away
See you break, break away
Into the light
And to the day"
